Most Women Get Hot Flashes. Few Do Anything About It.

Hot flashes? Night sweats? Lying awake at 3 a.m.?

Up to 80% of women get hot flashes at some point, and more than a million American women hit menopause every year.

The CDC just reported that about half of women 40 to 60 had menopause symptoms in the past year alone. That's nearly 17 million women. Only about 1 in 6 of them were taking a prescription for it.

The CDC didn't ask why. Some women are doing fine without one. Others may be gritting their teeth through hot flashes and bad nights and never bring it up with a doctor.

Symptoms are most common in your early 50s, and even then only about 1 in 5 women with symptoms were on a prescription.

So if menopause is wearing you down:

  • Ask your doctor straight out what your options are

  • Cut back on late-day coffee and evening wine (both can make hot flashes and sleep worse)

  • Keep the bedroom cool at night

And some women would just rather skip the prescription. That's who I made Midlife Cream for.
